Events develop around a girl named Maren (Taylor Russell). In search of her father, she travels across the country. The heroine has never seen her father, but with his help she intends to understand herself - to understand her own tendency to want to kill and eat those who love her. On the way, the girl meets the wanderer Lee (Timothee Chalamet). Seeking protection, young people are forced to become hermits.
