Teenager Miles accidentally finds a high-tech military robocopy named A-X-L. Endowed with advanced artificial intelligence and a good dog's heart, the dog immediately becomes attached to Miles to the great wrath of the scientists who created the metal beast. Wanting to protect the man's best friend, Miles, with the support of Sarah's resourceful girl, decides to speak out against the military.
