There Is No Place Like Home (2018)

Italian families are famous for a huge number of relatives of varying degrees of intimacy and ardent temperament. In order to avoid every minute quarrels that arise at the slightest occasion and are accompanied by smashing dishes, burning eyes and emotional curses to the seventh knee, the Italians have invented to spread out and maintain family ties at a distance. This wise decision saves time, nerves and money for a new dinner service, which means it can be recognized as the best way to keep peace among the members of a huge clan.

But even the natives of Italy are famous for their deep respect for their grandparents, who come to the holidays for a cheerful crowd. So, on the golden anniversary of Alba and Pietro, all their relatives come from young and old. The old man and the old woman live on the island, which can only be reached by ferry, but this does not stop children, daughters-in-law, nephews and grandchildren. At first, everything goes predictably: dancing, choral songs, a festive dinner ... But a sudden storm interrupts the message from the mainland, and all family members are locked in the house. It seems, the relative idyll is over, and it's time to get the skeletons out of the closet ...
