Gundermann (2018)

1992: A few years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, Gerhard Gundermann (Alexander Scheer) is still working in open-cast mining in Hoyerswerda. The mid-thirties want to start a new band and go on tour. His texts about "simple" people, exploitation and ecology always spoke to the audience from the soul. Nevertheless, the musician kept his job as a digger driver to be independent of the success of his art. But the past catch up with him when it comes out that Gundermann was an informer of the Stasi. As more and more comes to light, how much he has betrayed out of love for the country over his friends, Gundermann's image of itself breaks apart. Parallel to this begins Gundermann's story in 1975: The lateral thinker has just been thrown out of the military and kicks with the factory tape whose member is also his childhood sweetheart Conny (Anna Unterberger), who later becomes his wife.
