Thalaivi (2021)

This is a review for the Tamil version, first of all, let me make it clear that I detest Kangana Ranaut as a person and cannot digest her toxic Hindutva leanings but she is a phenomenal actress and proves it once again with her performance. Arvind Swamy should honestly be nominated for the national award for his role as mjr/mgr. Even though the film almost amounts to a hagiography and reduces important figures like Karunanidhi to caricatures, the film isn't exactly a hatchet job like accidental pm/ indu sarkar/ pm modi etc. Overall it's a good movie with outstanding performances.
