Manmarziyaan (2018)

In the center of the plot is a young girl, a police detective named Kate Fuller. Kate is not very fond of her bosses, and very often the girl is assigned to the most complicated and confusing business. Once again, it is appointed for a not very pleasant investigation related to the murder. Kate should investigate the murder of a man who, after medical examination, was strangled in his bed in a dream. The main suspect is the wife of the murdered, who, according to the police, strangled her husband in the middle of the night while he was sleeping. The main witness in the case is his daughter Sophie. However, the further and deeper Kate proceeds to investigate this case, the more she realizes that otherworldly forces are involved here.
The detective learns that there is a demon of sleep named Mara, who for thousands of years has been taking away the souls of people, killing them at night in a dream. During his investigation, Kate incautiously attracts the attention of the demon. And now, knowing that the detective and the girl Sophie know about its existence, the demon decides to kill them. The detective and the girl begin to experience terrible symptoms of the presence of the demon and nightmares during sleep. Now each of them understands that if she falls asleep, she becomes a victim of the demon, the girl decides to seek help from a local shaman to find out how to defeat the demon. Her health is constantly deteriorating, and the strength is running out, she really wants to sleep, but she realizes that if she falls asleep, she will die.
