Meg 2: The Trench (2023)

The original film Meg was based on Steve Alten's 1997 novel of the same name. Two years later, the author published a sequel to the novel, The Hollow, which would become the basis for the sequel. Although it is not yet known exactly what the new film will be about, it can be assumed that the filmmakers will take the plot of the book as a basis.

Set several years after the end of the first novel, Jonas Taylor studies a young megalodon shark in captivity. While the other members of the research team explore the Mariana Trench, where the megalodon was first found, they discover another prehistoric creature, the Kronosaurus. This monster was a large marine reptile that evolved to hunt and live in the void. Now facing this new creature in addition to the megalodons, Jonas must face his demons from the first book to try and keep his life.
